Remote service in fringe cell phone reception areas using cell phone antennas!
Remote service where one can live off the grid or in extreme remote locations where a phone line is not always available. Some have wind power as well as solar and generate their own electricity. If it wasn't for cell phone service, the only method of communication would be 2 way radio!
Some of these areas are only used part of the year for vacations. Others live remotely year round and depend on their cell phone antennas for service communications in fringe area cell phone service conditions. Others do it for fun and amusement. Either way both parties have used their cell phones for emergencies and to help others.
The convenience of having phone service at home!
I have talked to some who live so remote that making a phone call required getting into the car and driving for miles to get to a reasonable distance from a cell phone tower to make a call. Those same people were able to get cell service at their location with the proper installation of a cell phone antenna in a cell phone service fringe area and no more need to drive for miles to make a call!

There are some RV'ers who use remote setups do document their journeys across the Nation on their computer and have phone service in extreme cell phone fringe areas where most have no reception at all and they add to their websites from those remote locations!
The one thing most remote service users have in common is the fact that Yagi antennas make the difference between being connected or not.
Cell phone amplifiers make a big difference here too.
Just because you can reach a signal does not mean it will always be usable and this should be taken into consideration. If you have 2 bars of signal or less with an external antenna, it would be good to have an amplifier somewhere on your system. Boxcarcabin has good pictures of what can be possible in a remote setup in wilderness locations.
But wait! I don't even know where the nearest cell phone towers are! On the next page look for the link for antenna searches and you can login to find the nearest cell phone tower to you from there! Isn't that easy!!
How do I choose a system to setup and get it installed? We will cover that and how to find the best source of cell phone signals too.
