Remote service, cell phone antennas, cell phone boosters and cell phone amplifiers.

Remote service for your cell phone requires special types of cell phone antennas. I would recommend a Yagi antenna here and so would many others. Yagi antennas have the ability to grab a cell tower's output and hold onto it. This comes in handy especially for those who use Pda's and Laptop computers!

Internet connections will be slower, but they are there!

The internet is going to be slower because of the limitations of cell phone service and internet surfing. Most report that even though it is considered slow by todays standards, it still is a lot faster than dial-up. The following pictures of Yagi antennas represent some of the best available and if they look different, it's because they respond to different bandwidths of service.

This Yagi is designed for service in the 806 MHz cellular service band. I've seen these used in some really remote setups and they work very well and have a long reach toward a cell tower. If your service provider has internet access on this bandwidth, then this would be a good antenna to use in a remote service location.

And Speaking of remote service, you probably still are waiting for the location of those cell phone service towers, aren't you?

This Yagi cell phone antenna will handle up to 50 watts of power at 14dBi at 855 MHz. Dan at Boxcarcabin uses cell phone boosters when necessary to get service.

This Yagi works in the 800 to 900 MHz band. This is also known as the WiFi band as well as cellular and will work for internet access across the wifi band. Wifi is 802.11 MHz and is used mostly for PCS and Pda plus laptop internet access cards. Not much information here on this particular Yagi except that in urban weak signal areas, this antenna works well. Cell phone boosters may be required here as well for use in semi rural areas too.

I have no knowledge of this antenna being used successfully in remote service locations. That may be because of the power handling rating of this antenna. It is rated for 10 watts maximum at 13dB.

This high band Yagi covers the 1800 to 1990 MHz band. This band is most commonly used for PDA cell phone service. The data transfer works best in the higher bands because of the amount of data that can be compressed and sent across the airwaves.

PDA's and PCS devices are mini computers!

Remember, Pda and Pcs devices are mini computers with operating system software on them that makes them based on the Personal Computer. It takes more to transmit and send data than it does voice. I don't know anyone using this antenna in remote locations like wilderness application either.

Mostly because the higher bandwidth frequencies do not travel as far as the lower band frequencies. This Yagi antenna is rated for 25 watts maximum at 15 DBI. These antennas work well in semi rural areas where office buildings requiring remote service for Pcs and Pda phones needs a boost.

The second link will take you to the section on Pda's and Pcs devices.

The next one will take you to the section, Aiming your antennas. This one is important because now that you know where the cell towers are, you will need to get the antennas you see on these pages, properly aimed and focused on your cell tower for access to your mobile phone service, right?
