Pda cell phones and the importance of cell phone antennas.
Pda cell phones work really well in a moving vehicle with antennas like these. The antennas pictured above are made right here in the U.S.A. by Wilson Electronics to really tough real world standards.
Even with these antennas you need to know your service type. Pda's use either GSM type of service or CDMA type of service. There are a variety of antennas that will work on both GSM and CDMA service.

Providing that you have them aimed properly! First you need to know where the cell phone antenna tower is for your area. The link below will let you do just that!

It has been reported to me that GSM service is faster for pda's because of the GSM service using packet bursts to transfer data. I've also been told by pda owners that battery life is a little longer in GSM served pda's because the antenna only puts out a larger amount of power to send and receive the data and the rest of the time it is idle.
However, CDMA based pda's have seen an improvement in battery capabilities in the last few years and a big change in battery capacity. Pda's are much more complex than standard cell phones both in design and functionality. For these reasons, issues of connectivity are even more complex.

Since pda's are based on the PC and are mobile computers, proper connectivity is even more important. some programs may not load properly and maybe not at all if signal strength is not strong enough.
It takes a lot more signal to send and receive data than it does to send voice!
However, the methods of boosting your service signal through the use of cell phone antennas and amplifiers will prove to be invaluable for pda's as well.
