Mobile phone service and the realities of needing cell phone antennas!
Mobile phone service is spotty and drops out in some areas. How do I find out where my mobile phone service broadcasting towers are in my area? Good Question! I'll include a link to
antenna locater here.
This is a remarkable site where you can locate any tower in your coverage area and focus your antenna on it if you need one! Yagi antennas need to be aimed at the tower and this tool will make it easier!
Your mobile phone service may need an antenna and amplifier to work properly. This step is incredibly because most complaints about dropped calls, garbled communications, slow connectivity, slow WiFi and PCS soeeds are almost always pointing to one thing!
SIGNAL STRENGTH!
Everyone has their own preferred service provider because we alluse our phones differently. The major service providers are Nextel, T-Mobile, Alltel, Verizon, Cingular/ATT, Sprint, Qwest, etc.
When you get outside of the U.S., the choices get even larger, especially for those with world band phones! I'm not going to tell you that one service is better than the other. It would be like comparing apples to oranges and just because I like oranges that doesn't mean I don't like apples!
Buy the Dash and receive a free 512MB memory card!
Everyone I talk to would be happier with their service if they could just connect better!
The whole point is that many of us including me have had to purchase cell phone antennas and amplifiers and either through a direct coonnection to the antenna plug or through a repeater, we needed these to avoid dropped calls and other problems.
Most I know will get a repeater because it allows you to move about freely while you use your phone. The usable range of a repeater is about 800 feet repeater antenna to use your mobile phone service. A lot of us are considering cutting our land lines because of the convenience that our cell phones provide.
The proper antenna and amplifier will make a big difference in how you view your mobile phone service!
Make sure you read this next paragraph all the way through because if you need to get a cell phone antenna and amplifier, then you should also know that if the services are not compatible with each other, then the antenna and amplifiers won't be either! if you have GSM service, then you need a package made for GSM signals. IDEN signals will require an IDEN package, got it? OK!
