Cell phone amplifiers and boosters in weak signal areas, page two.

Ready to get started installing your cell phone amplifiers?

Good. Once you have made your cell phone signal strength and distance assessment, the next step is to install your amplifier system. Pick a location in your cabin where you want your cell phone to be used most if going with a direct connection. This is important because you will have to use a small wire plugged into your phone, remember?

This is not as important with a repeater since there is no wire connected to your phone! Find a dry location where you can install your amplifier out of the way to keep it plugged in or where you can keep your battery with it if your not connected to the local utility.Buy the Dash and receive a free 512MB memory card!

Next, run the appropriate cable from your cell phone amplifier to where you are going to be using your phone most. Don't connect it to your antenna booster yet, remember we still have the antenna to mount somewhere.

Now let's mount your antenna!

Pick a location on your cabin where you can aim your antenna in the direction you went when you made your sgnal test. Mount your antenna away from tree limbs or anything that would cause interference with it. Make sure you pick a location where you can rotate it back and forth about 120 to 180 degrees.

after you install your antenna bracket, put the antenna on it and leave it somewhat loose so you cam ove it. Now connect your cell phone amplifier to your antenna and your cell phone. With your phone on wait for a signal bar to show up.

Got Something?

Great! No? don't worry keep trying! If you have done your home work, you installed a Yagi. Now move your Yagi antenna one inch at a time watching your cell phone signal indicator. Wait a minute or two so your cell phone can lock on to the network. Now keep moving the antenna one inch at a time and and wait for a minute or two each time you move your antenna while watching for the most signal strength on your phone.

When you find your maximum gain, tighten your antenna so it can't move and try calling someone. Here's a tip, call the local hardware store and find out their hours and location! Your going to need them, I guarantee it! A hardware store is a tinkerers best friend and a homeowners necessity!

Success in getting a signal at your location?

Great! If not keep trying! If you followed directions and properly calculated your distance from where you had signal and your cell phone amplifier and antenna are connected properly, you will get service eventually! This is where the patience part comes in. Don't rush it! If you get frustrated stop for awhile and come back to it later. This is where the life of the turtle comes in handy, you will get there eventually.

Make sure all your connections are tight, your amplifier and antenna are properly grounded and you are sure of the direction of the cell tower you are trying to access. One of the most common problems I've heard about is getting confused about direction. a compass would come in handy for this and they can be found almost anywhere, including the local hardware store you should be calling!
